The Same Product Answers for Every Team

Querytail··3 min read

A customer asks the same question in three places: on the product page, by email to customer service, and in a store. Too often they get three different answers. The fix is not another tool for the teams. It is the same approved product knowledge, inside the AI assistant each team already uses.

Three channels, three answers

Each channel answers from its own source. The website answers from product copy. Customer service answers from saved replies and experience. Store staff answer from training and memory. Each source drifts on its own.

Take a simple case. A customer asks whether a renovation paint can be used inside a shower. The advisor on the website says no and suggests the shower paint. A customer service agent, working from an old saved reply, says it is suitable for bathrooms. The customer notices, and trust in both answers drops.

Teams already use AI assistants

Many teams now ask Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to draft a reply or prepare an appointment. These assistants know a great deal in general. They do not know this formula, this size chart or what the brand can stand behind. When they fill the gap, they produce a plausible answer that nobody approved. The Skincare Questions a Product Page Rarely Answers shows why such answers cannot be improvised.

What changes when the assistant reads approved knowledge

When the team’s assistant answers from the product knowledge the merchant has approved:

  • The facts are the same as on the website, with the same sources.
  • The limits are visible. When a fact is not confirmed, the assistant says so instead of improvising.
  • There is nothing new to learn. The knowledge comes to the assistant the team already uses.
  • The questions teams ask feed the catalog. A question the knowledge cannot answer goes to review, as described in Merchant Console: Turn Product Questions into Better Knowledge.

Consulting the knowledge and changing it stay separate. Staff read approved answers. Changes go through the merchant’s review, so no one rewrites a product fact from a chat window. That boundary keeps every channel aligned on the same approved version.

Where it helps first

  • Customer service, for replies by email and chat that match what the website says.
  • Clienteling and stores, for advisers preparing an appointment or answering a client’s message. AI Commerce for Fashion and Luxury Brands describes how much these conversations depend on product knowledge.
  • Merchandising and product teams, to check what is approved before a launch or a campaign.
  • New staff, who can ask the assistant instead of searching through old training documents.

How Brand Copilot works

Brand Copilot brings the product knowledge approved in Merchant Console into the AI assistant each team already uses: Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot. Answers carry their sources, and the team sees when a fact is not confirmed.

Brand Agent on the website, Brand Discovery in the LLMs and Brand Copilot for the teams draw on the same approved knowledge. The website, the LLMs and the teams say the same thing. When a fact changes, it changes once, in Merchant Console, and every channel follows.

FAQ

Can staff change product facts from the assistant? No. They consult approved knowledge. Changes go through review in Merchant Console.

Which teams should start? The teams that answer the most product questions, usually customer service first, then clienteling.
